You think you can’t be shocked any longer by right-wing media? Well, I guarantee that you’ll be at least sickened, if not shocked by this list of the Most Outrageous Comments of 2006 from Media Matters for America. And by the way, I’m still nauseated by the appearance of our president on Limbaugh’s show only days after Rush’s mind-bogglingly stupid and mean comments about Michael J. Fox. True, in the scheme of things, Bush’s continued enabling of Rush’s demagoguery is probably not in the top ten of Dubya’s sins. But it says a lot.

Political Winds is Back

After a too-long hiatus, Political Winds has returned. Before, PW tended to have long essays, and while some blog purists seem to be offended by posts that are in the form of traditional essays, I intend to continue writing them. After all, blogs aren’t really an art form (for Pete’s sake), they are a liberating and flexible tool allowing unprecedented freedom to publish and disseminate content. All that said, I will be doing fewer essays and shorter, more frequent comments.
